For award-winning Realtor® Nicholas Cardenas, the entrepreneurial spirit came naturally. As a kid growing up in the Inland Empire, his first enterprise was earning lunch money by selling candy to his friends on the school bus. He says he is grateful for his modest beginnings in life. “It taught me to be more responsible with money, and it gave me the hustle and drive to go after stuff on my own. I wanted to become something for myself rather than working for somebody else.”

With several family members in the real estate business, Nicholas saw the opportunities the profession offered and entered real estate in his early twenties. After establishing himself in the industry, he joined CENTURY 21 King, owned by his uncle, Julio Cardenas. “Having family there is awesome, but it’s not the only reason why I chose it. I respect my uncle highly. He’s a man of faith, and I strive for that as well. He has created a more a professional environment, where you have support and everything you need to succeed. We have a well-rounded community of agents who are there to work. It’s changed my outlook on approaching real estate as a profession.”

Relatable, easygoing and a great communicator, Nicholas focuses on the relationship over the transaction. “I really educate my clients on what to expect at every point in time. I like to keep clients involved during a transaction and focus on communication not just during, but also after the transaction closes. And if they need to cancel for any reason, I’m right there supporting that decision, even if I’ve spent money to market a listing. I really care about them and what is in the best interests of their family.”

The recent shelter-in-place directive has not slowed Nicholas’s momentum. He is still dedicated to helping as many people as possible with their housing needs. As a result, he is on the phone, maintaining and cultivating relationships so that when clients are ready to buy or sell, they know he is poised to help. “Right now some people are ready and motivated, while others have lost jobs or are just fearful, and some are waiting to see if there is an opportunity. I’m offering advice and answers to their questions. It’s actually a good time to buy since interest rates are low and there’s not as much competition for buyers.”

Nicholas has earned both the Quality Service Award and Quality Service Pinnacle Award from CENTURY 21, and buyers and sellers consistently give him five stars for his outstanding representation. Nicholas was introduced to hosts Josh and Matt Altman by a mutual friend and owner of Claremont Escrow, Raul Cruz. ADD “It was a great experience being able to film for the show, Josh and Matt were both great guys and it was eye opening to be able to see this industry from a different point of view.” “Raul called me one day and said, ‘Are you wearing your suit?’ He told me they were filming that night and needed a Latin agent to talk about strategies for marketing to Latin America. A career in real estate gives Nicholas what he prizes most: time with family. He and his wife Daleena have been married for seven years, and together they have three children: Aubriella, age 7, Jameson, age 1, and Eva, who is now in heaven. Vacations, outdoor adventures, sports and music are activities that bond the family. They are loyal Cowboys, Angels and Clippers fans. Following in his father’s footsteps, Nicholas is a musician, and so are his children. “I’ve been a musician since I can remember. I was in diapers playing drums, and I still play to this day. I got my passion for music from my father. He made it in the music business, and he has the world’s largest drum set in the 1988 Guinness book.”

Now approaching a decade in real estate, Nicholas brings experience combined with youthful energy to his real estate practice. Most of all, it is his integrity and genuine care that define his service. “I pride myself in being honest and upfront with the people I’m taking care of. I’m here to help.”
